Man robs the bank to be in jail rather than at home with his nagging wife

Man robs a bank to rid himself of wife
A man accused of robbing a bank told police he did it because he would rather go to prison than live with his wife, court documents show.

Lawrence Ripple is alleged to have gone to his local bank and then handed the cashier a note demanding cash.

It is claimed the 70-year-old robbed the Bank of Labor in Kansas City, Kansas, last Friday.

The note he allegedly gave to the cashier read: "I have a gun, give me money".

Police reports claim the cashier handed over $3,000 (£2,250) but instead of fleeing the scene, Ripple is alleged to have wandered up to seats in the bank and sat down.
