Brad Pitt has reunited with some of his children for the first time since his wife Angelina Jolie filed for divorce.
The 'Fury' star reportedly met with some of his children on October 8 in the presence of a therapist, as per terms agreed when a parenting plan was put in place earlier this month.
A source said: "People from both sides hope that the two sides will reach a longer-term agreement on their own. The hope is that this period of time will lead them to be able to resolve things without the involvement of the courts."
It was previously decided that Angelina, 41, would have temporary physical custody over their six children - Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight - and they would live in their mother's home in California. Brad would be allowed to visit them but it has to be under the supervision of a therapist.
Brad has also offered to be randomly tested for drugs or alcohol to prove he is not dependent on either.
An insider added to Us Weekly: "He will cooperate in any way he can to see the kids. By agreeing to this, he can see them, which is what he wanted."
The 52-year-old actor is also currently under investigation by the FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services after he allegedly physically and verbally abused one of his children whilst drunk on a private plane just five days before his wife filed for divorce.
The parenting plan will continue to be in effect until October 20, when social workers will decide what to do next after hearing from the therapist and taking a look at Brad's drug test results.
Angelina filed for divorce on September 19, citing "irreconcilable differences".
